In 2004, KWT started its welfare activities, in the medical field, by establishing a dispensary in Budhanwala settlement 20 Km from Bahawalnagar city. The dispensary is situated at a distance of 8 Km from the main highway.
The dispensary has now been upgraded as a mini hospital to provide basic health facilities. It is housed in picturesque surroundings. The two storey building has a construction area of 5000 sq ft.
The hospital has treated more than 60,000 patients in 6 years Alhamdolillah.
An operation theater with necessary equipment is established in the hospital for cataract eye surgeries. An eye camp is organized on the last Sunday of every month. The poor villagers are provided this facility at their door step with no cost.
Several eye camps have been held at the site. Over 1000 surgeries have been conducted for lens transplant, and three times as many patients have been treated in OPD.
In January 2006, KWT established a Gynea Section in the hospital to provide relief to the deprived female population. Arrangements have been made with the Bahawalnagar CMH to handle complicated delivery cases.
An ambulance is provided in the hospital which is available 24 hours to handle any kind of emergency.
Another building is being constructed 15 KM away from Al-Rahman Hospital. It will house another hospital for the villagers. Same facilities and services shall be provided, in the new hospital, which are being provided in Al-Rahman Hospital.
Total cost of this project is Rs. 3.5 Millions. Another ambulance has been imported from Japan for this hospital.
